Blackphone: A smart phone designed to keep hackers away

Knowingly or unknowingly we carry a spy on our pocket. It’s none another than but our smart phone. Cyber criminals may hack the device, will collect our credit card as well as password related information, call details any time. But smart phone users’ such worries will be an out of question soon.

The Blackphone, unveiled last week at MWC 2014, will provide encryption for phone calls, electronic mails, texts, and private browsing.It is developed by an encrypted communications firm Silent Circle and a Swiz start up Geeksphone, shipping will commence from June 2014 at $629.

According to the manufacturers, Blackphone is the first integrated smart phone from the best privacy minds in the industry and it will employ a customized version of Android, PrivatOS, which has rigorous security measures compared to default OS.

The device will have Silent circle applications like Silent Phone, Silent Text, Silent contacts which allow users to securely make and receive telephone calls, post messages, transfer files without concern that their actions are being put down. Users can gain use of anonymous search, anonymous wifi and will get anonymous cloud storage from SpiderOak.In addition, Blackphone ships with the Smart WiFi Manager from Mike Kershaw, Chief Architect for SGP Technologies, and a powerful remote-wipe and device recovery tool. It comes with pre activated Blackphone firewall too.

Blackphone, looks like Samsung Galaxy S4, comes with 4.7” HD IPS Screen (1280*800px), powered by 2GHz Quad Core CPU, features 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 8MP Camera and 1.3MP front camera for video calling.
