Apple iPhone has been the favorite choice for the high-class smartphone fans since 2007. Last year, the company launched two variants of iPhones- high cost 5S and low cost 5C models. This time we may see iPhone in two display sizes- 4.7” and 5.5”.
Several reports indicate that Apple is planning to launch iPhone 6 with a bigger screen to compete with Samsung , HTC and LG. According to Reuters, production of 4.7” iPhone model will begin in May and could launch in early September. But production of 5.5” model may delay by two more months due to the issues of much larger screen size and would launch closer to Christmas.
Both models will have 8 MP rear camera, fingerprint security and will use A8 system on chip with 1 GB RAM. 5.5” model features full HD display of 1080×1920 pixels, whereas 4.7” model will have a lower resolution screen at 750×1334 pixels.
iPhone 5 came with 4” display (1136×640 pixels) which was the average screen size for smartphones in early 2013. Since then, smartphone size has increased rapidly and most of the mobiles have at least 4.5” screen now.
Latest Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with 5.1” Super Amoled screen of 1080×1920 pixels. HTC One M8 expects to launch with 5” SUPER LCD3 screen of same resolution and LG G2 has 5.2” screen. So naturally, Apple forced to increase the display size of their phones with much higher resolution.
